Hot Girl Summer Action Plan

Hey Tribe,

Are you having a hot girl summer? The last few weeks, everyone has been raving over having a hot girl summer, but what does this mean exactly? And are some people using these trendy words to create self- sabotaging behaviors? (If you're new to this blog, refer back to my older blog to understand more on this topic.)

Let's begin with a definition...

A hot girl summer is about living your best life and unapologetically going after your goals, needs and wants.

Simple enough, right?  Great, now let's create our hot girl summer action plan.

Practice self-care.  You guessed it tribe, a hot girl summer has to be filled with self-care and I don't mean including how to squeeze in biweekly pedicures or planning for a last minute vacation that you cannot financially afford so that it looks good for social media. I mean really taking time to attend to your needs and desires. Remember you are 100% in a relationship with yourself and this requires listening to your own desires, reminding yourself of your goals and creating a plan to go after the life you're seeking. The actionable self-care steps might include allowing some alone time to hear your thoughts, journaling, meditating, or simply resting. A hot girl summer must include keeping your self-care as a leading priority.

Re-evaluate your goals. Waaaahh-- your're giving me more work, Court? Come on, I can hear you saying it ! ;-) But, yes actually I am. I just want to remind you of what you said that you wanted to accomplish this summer. Were you creating a business plan, saving more money, working out regularly, applying to a new job or going back to school? Here's the good news, the summer doesn't actually end until September 21st so you'll have plenty of time to either A- crush those goals, B- create a SMART goal that will get you your desirable outcome or C- set some goals for yourself before the summer ends.  At this point, it's time to have a real conversation. You may want to ask yourself the following questions:

A. What are my goals?

B. Do I have an action plan?

C. Am I still able to accomplish them before the summer ends or do I need to readjust my plan?

Here's #facts, goals sometimes take longer than seasons or expected and certainly longer than trends. If you're still working on something beyond the Hot Girl Summer 2019. That's okay!

Do not fall into the spirit of comparison. Moment of truth? No matter how amazing the things that your friends (real and on social media), family and associates have going on, you have been given different paths, different purposes, different obstacles and different realities. Help yourself out- and quit comparing! Now listen, I know you may be tempted to click the hot girl summer hashtag and visit all the wonderful things that all of these amazing sistas are doing, BUT be mindful that their hot girl summer may look different than your hot girl summer.

Now that we've gotten the elephant out of the room, let's continue focusing on you. We talked about looking at your goals. This is where you draw the energy to decide what the remainder of your summer will look like. This is how you focus yourself on YOU.

Listen tribe, whether it's in the name of a hot girl summer, self-care or just living your best life, I am happy that you've decided to live authentically. May your journey continue to prosper and may you continue to Bloom into Your Best Self.

Love always,

Courtney
