What is meditation? Is it this big concept that is only reserved for the hippies and eccentric people?
We like to think of our lives as a meditation. Every day we have opportunities to be present and to enjoy the moment, things and people around us. Unfortunately, due to distractions we are frequently multi-tasking, never giving one thing our entire attention, never being fully present.

What would life look like for you if you were to slow things down? If you were to try to take things one step at a time? For instance, when you brush your teeth... you only focus on brushing your teeth, observing what it feels like to be fully present in the room, the taste of the toothpaste, the scents you smell...
Now let's think about being present without task. What does that look like? Are you sitting on the couch, a chair, or a bench? You don't have to be doing something to be doing something...ahh;) Awareness is in the moment. It is about being fully connected to the moment. If you find yourself losing sight of that don't worry. Try these mindfulness mantras
- I am present.
- I will focus on what makes me happy
- I am aware of my body and mind.
- I create the world I am in.
- My mind is clear and calm.
